Creating an identity for one of the most inspirational charities in London.
Based in the South East London, Bexley Snap is a charity dedicated to ensuring the needs of disabled young people are always met. As an organisation, they’re committed to disabled children, young people, and their families being enabled to lead the fullest and most fulfilling lives possible.
As a volunteer in their social groups, I took on the role of designing their new logo alongside a small team of their members who offered direction and feedback throughout the process. Their logo needed to be simple and punchy, feel modern, work in a variety of mediums, and most importantly communicate that everyone is welcome to join.
During my first session with the young people at Bexley Snap, we discussed the existing logo, and I tasked them with sketching logo ideas, and visual images that they thought reflected the charity.
I went away, and developed some digital versions of their sketches and the group then decided the route they’d like to take the brand. What follows is the design that they chose and refined.
The brand mark, featuring iconography representing several disabilities, alluding to the wide range of people that the charity supports.
A simplified brand mark, showing the shape built by the abstract speech bubble shapes.
