Building Wrap
Building Wrap
An Art Deco inspired building wrap for the exterior of the Waldorf Hilton.
I was approached by Concept Foundry to illustrate a full scale façade of the Waldorf Hilton. The design would be used to cover the exterior of the building whilst renovations were undertaken. The size of the building was 60 x 24.5 metres.
The design was required to fit in with the local landscape, whilst reflecting the rich history of the hotel. The focus of the illustration is on the hotels famous ballroom shows, and their iconic afternoon tea. My task included exploring routes to allow the illustrations and textures to scale up to the size of a huge building. A mix of vectors and separately overlaid textures appeared to be the best route, and thankfully worked out in the end.
