Creating a captivating 1920’s influenced art deco scene.
For Concept Foundry, I was tasked with designing a full scale façade of the Waldorf Hilton. The design was used to cover the exterior of the building whilst renovations were undertaken. The size of the building wrap was 60 x 24.5 metres.
Required to fit in with the local landscape whilst reflecting the rich history of the hotel, the focus of the illustration is on the hotels famous ballroom shows, and their iconic afternoon tea.
The task included exploring techniques to allow the illustrations and textures to scale up to the size of a huge building. A mix of vectors and separately overlaid textures appeared to be the best route, and thankfully worked out in the end.
